Are you kidding? Everyone else rates this book with 4 or 5 stars? Well, I guess if you are looking for a topic covered with one-half page of content and then one and one-half pages of illustration, then this is the book for you. Frankly, if I had not already read several books on SEO, I would have walked away after reading this book with knowledge of several strategies and topics but little or no knowledge on how to implement them. This book is the posterchild for concise. If you have a website and you want to learn SEO so you can do-it-yourself then read Peter Kent's Search Engine Optimization for Dummies. If SEO can be boiled down to one-half page of introduction to a strategy with the "how-to implement" included, why would SEO companies charge upwards of $100 an hour? This book is merely a brief introduction to strategies. It is certainly not a how-to guide. Then maybe the book is intended to introduce SEO related topics so you can find books more detailed on each particular topic.

This book is truly helpful. Of all the SEO Books out there, I recommend this one to both pro and beginner. Lots of resources, you walk away with the information that you need. Very friendly with real life examples to visually walk you through the process.

Kris Jones has put together the best book on the subject of search
engine optimization I have ever seen. He is very thorough in his
explanations of different strategies to create a buzz about your
business, initiative or service. Kris leaves no stone unturned as
he explains the various ways to attract people to your website. He
discusses pay-per-click services, social networking, various ways
to tag and optimize your web site design, resources to analyze how
well your site is attracting viewers, resources to improve the
experience of your site and many other techniques.
This book is excellent for both a beginner (though I would
recommend getting some vocabulary about web page design and the
internet in general) and experienced professional because Kris is
thorough and writes very clearly.

This is a well organized book on search engine optimization. Well organized and well thought out. Not every possible idea is covered by this, but enough to have significantly improved the overall ranking of my site. Particularly helpful is that each idea is given the same number of pages...2 to be exact. here is an introduction, example, and some expanded info at the end. If you want improvement without difficult code and cryptic explanations, this is the book for you.

SEO beginners will find this book invaluable. It introduces great
many important concepts and provides insights into why search
engines do what they do.
However if you are a veteran, chances are that you already know all
the concepts in this book and frequently visit the many very good
forums and blogs around to answer specific questions. Besides, the
material in this book is soon as old as the book. For just the
nature of the topic, I can't see any *book* targeting SEO
professionals achieving a 5 star rating.
